New Year

This week, a new year will begin. At the time of this writing, it is the last day of 2015. I read somewhere that we are in book 2015; it is page 364 of 365 – this book is almost over. Some of you may celebrate tonight in high style. Others of you may celebrate quietly at home. Still others may not want to celebrate at all, but rather, breathe a sigh of relief that 2015 is coming to a close.

Have you made any resolutions yet? Written them down? Shared them with someone? I have not, for this simple reason. I can make changes any time. I don’t have to wait for the clock to strike twelve. I can change my eating habits, my sleeping habits, my exercise routine, at any time. It won’t happen as a “quick fix.” It takes time, persistence, patience and prayer!

God beckons to us to change — but God is far less concerned about our outsides than our insides — God wants our souls to change — to be more — more loving, more kind, more compassionate. May 2016 be a year filled with more…
